Dragons
are 100-150ft in size the long way and generally 50-75ft tall. They breathe
fire, acid, lightning, ice and energy. They are very intelligent creatures,
possessing telepathy. Their young are born from eggs. Their color is not
dependant on their alignment. Very few know that the dragons also possess
a human form that they can willfully |
shift to. In this
form their powers take on the appearance of Elemental magic. Most dragons of
the day are rather corrupt while those good ones of the past have been almost
completely forgotten. Either they are in hiding or have since died off…

They are the race
of Elves corrupted by Canelor and driven into exile such as other people related
to Canelor were. They are said to have establish great cities beneath the earth.
Like Elves, they are humanoid race but are so rarely seen above the surface
many have taken them to be simply a myth. They are characterized by their dark
skin, generally
silver or white hair and purple eyes. They have especially keen eye sight when
it comes to wandering through dark places.

These
people were once Guardians but were released from their servitude. They are
distinctive, like Immortals, for having white/pale blonde hair in the day
and black hair at night. Some are known to have their natural hair color at
night and two toned during the day. Although released, if their master is
still alive or they have managed to find the reincarnate of their master they
are most often found to continue their Guardian duties.
Sub-races: none; is the sub-race of Immortals and Guardians.

The
Guardians, as their name suggests, are body guards and companions of the Immortals.
They are an extremely loyal race, standing by their Immortal master no matter
what the situation. They also have gone into hiding and are even harder to pick
out since their hair does not change with the rising and setting of the sun.
They are said to share the same fate of death as their masters.
Sub-races: See Immortal-Guardians; no half-Guardians any born of a Guardian
is an Immortal

Vampires
are in no way beings with a conscience. They are soulless shells of what was
once mortal now possessed by an evil spirit. They’re original souls meander
sadly just behind them without any ability to move on to the afterlife or rejoin
their body. Strength and intelligence is gained over time and not immediately
granted to this abomination of life.
Sub-races: unknown

Sirens
and Banshee are the same race, just different forms. They appear as ethereal
forms of their former bodies; being the souls of people who lost loved ones
either at sea or on land. They mourn at the site of their loss through song.
Unbeknownst to them their songs lead other people to their own death. They may
leave their place but rarely do, as they feel inclined to mourn for all eternity.

These
are like wingless, and sometimes limbless, dragons. They populate the sea and
the sky and sometimes are land bound, but the occurrences are quite rare. Sea
Serpents have elemental powers consisting of water; while Sky Serpents most
often have power of lightening and energy. They can be rather destructive but
aren’t evil over all. They tend to be ferociously protective of pure creatures,
such as Unicorns, Pegasi, etc. Some even are appointed guardians of ports, castles,
and cities.

Naga
are an intelligent breed with the torso, arms and head of a human and the body
of snake. Their natural powers lie in the element of Earth but they are known
to expand their power by study and becoming mages. While their own language
is some what coarse, they are known to be translators as well, mastering many
languages with ease. They make a formidable opponent but are more diplomatic
for the most part.
Sub-races: none to speak of other than half-Naga

Hippocampus
is an aquatic equine like creature. Its torso is that of a horse with only forelegs.
The hind legs are replaced by a large, powerful tail. Their fore-hooves too
are replaced by cupped fins. They breathe by means of gills underwater, though
above they can breathe air like any horse with large nostrils. They posses great
speed and intelligence, can communicate with a variety of marine life and possess
some power over water. They are often found in the company of Pacifians. They
communicate by means of telepathy.

Nymph
are a humanoid race often mistaken for Elves. They often refer to themselves
as the children or servants of Gaea, the goddess of Creation. They take it as
their duty to keep balance in the nature of Xanele. They are often associated
with elements or the seasons. While they may seem very passive and naïve;
it is not wise to threaten a Nymph or its home. They will go to lengths to protect
them.
Sub-race: Known to cross with Elves, Fae, and Humans.

.BESTIARY.
"the beasts of Xanele..."
The
races in Xanele are those that were created by Gaea to seal
the pact with the gods, and so there is a limited number
of them, one for each god. The way they were created and
how the god influenced that creation is lost to history.
The Beasts of Xanele are also creations, but they are not
part of the pact. They could be what are generally deemed
races by definition, or less intelligent and/or culturally
advanced beings like beasts or creatures. This is not an
inclusive reference, and by no means tries to encompass
all of the creatures that would exist in a world so vast.
